Legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg has announced that he has given up marijuana.

The notorious marijuana smoker made the announcement in a statement shared online on Thursday, November 16.

“I’m quitting smoking,” the rapper claimed in his post, which included a statement: “After much consideration with my family, I have decided to quit smoking.”

The 52-year-old ended his message by adding, “Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Fans of the veteran rapper, known for his marijuana use, were shocked.

It was once claimed that the rapper had 75-150 joints rolled for him every day, but he later denied this claim.

The renegade Piranha, who calls himself Snoopy’s “Personal Blunt Roller” (PBR), said last year: “On average, I roll about half a pound a day, which seems a bit excessive.” So about 75 to 150 units a day. I calculated over 450,000 bludgeoning blows.

However, in March this year, he admitted that he had cut back on his cannabis intake after becoming a grandfather.

In March, Snoop told the Daily Mail that his personal use came under scrutiny after his eldest son, Cordé, became the father of son Zion in 2015.

“Becoming a grandfather changed me in many ways,” he said.

“The main way is to care about how I live, how I move and who I interact with because I want to see my grandchildren grow old.

“The only way I can do that is by taking precautions in terms of how I move, who I hang out with, where I go, how much I consume, what do I consume?

“Am I doing extracurricular activities or am I just doing what I’m supposed to be doing?”
