The popular musician Kizz Daniel known formally as Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe has been arrested and released from police custody in Da es Salaam in Tanzania.

In a viral video on social media on Monday, the musician could be seen being arrested by authorities in the Tanzanian port city Dar es Salaam.

No official statement has been released by the authorities as there is speculation that the arrest may be unconnected to the singer failing to perform at the highly anticipated show in the country.

Information reaching Westafricaonline indicates the singer was held at a police station at the Oyster Bay Police station in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The musician has since been released and is free to leave the country, but his legal team are expected to report back to the police station.
