Rio Ferdinand sees problems with Casemiro going to Manchester United. Manchester United have completed the deal to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid for a transfer fee of up to £70 million.

Casemiro, 30, has signed a four-year contract with United that will make him the club’s third highest-paid player.

To his advantage, though, he comes with bags of experience and mental strength that are currently lacking in Man United.

As a player, he has won a number of trophies, including the Champions League, which he has won an incredible five times.

The main concerns raised by Rio included the amount of money United had paid as a transfer fee, considering Casemiro is 30 years old.

Ferdinand also questioned the impact he will have on a united team currently struggling in all departments.

It must be noted that the games in England are usually fast-paced compared to the games in Spain, and this calls into question how Casemiro will adapt and rally the players in Manchester United behind him to overcome their mental, and physical weaknesses.

Ferdinand thought “it’s going to be a huge ask for a 30-year-old to come in, recharge, reboot, and go again,” but went on to describe him as someone with a “real winner” mentality.

“Casemiro is one of the main guys alongside Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano (Ronaldo) before that.”

“When the big games come along, this guy performs. He knows what he’s doing, he’s there.”

Casemiro could make his Man United debut next weekend at Southampton, with the Red Devils hoping to complete the transfer before their game against Liverpool on Monday.
