Three Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy, Tems, and Pheelz make Obama’s summer playlist of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
As is his custom every year, President Barack Obama turned to his various social media platforms on Tuesday to reveal the 44 songs that have been on repeat on his playlist over the summer.
He said, “Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies—and it’s an example of how music really can bring us all together.” “Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies,” he wrote.
Tems, Burna Boy, and Pheelz are three artists from Nigeria who made the list
In the list was included the song “Last Last” by Burna Boy, which was released in May of 2022. Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough” is sampled in a song that is also included on the new album titled “Love, Damini,” which was released by the singer.
Tems’s song “Vibe Out” was included on the EP If Orange Was a Place that she released in 2021.
With the release of his breakthrough single “Finesse” in March, Nigerian musician Pheelz was able to make it into Barack Obama’s list.
It’s Burna Boy’s second appearance on President Obama’s summer playlist.
